My Role at NovaKid
As a UX researcher, my primary responsibility was to gather user insights and conduct research to inform the design and development of products. I played a crucial role in ensuring that our products met the needs of users and other stakeholders while delivering a seamless user experience. (While I am unable to showcase specific projects due to confidentiality reasons, I have provided representative visuals from company websites to demonstrate the overall aesthetic and design principles I worked with as a UX researcher.)
Understanding Project Goals
At the start of each project, I collaborated closely with the product team to gain a clear understanding of the project goals, target audience, and key research objectives. This helped me align my research efforts with the overall product strategy
Planning and Designing Research Studies
I carefully planned and designed research studies based on the project goals and research objectives. This involved selecting appropriate research methods, such as interviews, surveys, and usability tests, and determining the sample size and recruitment criteria.
Conducting User Interviews
I conducted in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and other stakeholders to gain insights into their needs, pain points, and motivations. These interviews helped me understand their experiences, expectations, and challenges in using educational technology.
Administering Surveys
To gather broader quantitative insights, I designed and distributed surveys to a larger sample of users. These surveys provided valuable data on user demographics, preferences, and usage patterns, helping us make data-driven decisions during the product development process.
Observing and Analyzing User Behavior
I conducted usability tests, where I observed users interacting with our educational technology products. By closely observing their behavior and collecting qualitative and quantitative data, I identified usability issues, pain points, and areas for improvement.
Analyzing and Synthesizing Data
I analyzed the collected data using various qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. This involved coding and categorizing qualitative data, performing statistical analysis on survey data, and synthesizing findings to uncover key insights and patterns.
Generating Actionable Recommendations
Based on the research findings, I developed actionable recommendations to improve the user experience of our educational technology products. These recommendations encompassed areas such as user interface design, content organization, feature enhancements, and overall usability.
Collaborating with Design and Development Teams
actively collaborated with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure that the research insights were integrated into the design and development process. I facilitated workshops, presented research findings, and actively participated in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
Iterative Testing and Evaluation
Throughout the product development lifecycle, I facilitated iterative testing and evaluation to validate design decisions and assess the impact of implemented changes. This involved conducting additional usability tests and gathering user feedback to refine the user experience.
Documentation and Reporting
I maintained detailed documentation of research methodologies, data analysis, and findings. I created compelling reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate research insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
